About Consolidated Electrical Contractors, Inc.
Our company was formed in 1995 for the purpose of continuing the Lansing Electric Company for the Coven and Alberts families. Since 1995 we have continued our growth throughout the State of
Michigan by acquiring well-established electrical contractors in need of new management, owners looking to retire, and from the desire to increase our market shares. We look
to our future as an opportunity to improve on people’s opinion of services within the construction trade. We have implemented management-training programs that have helped our electricians develop
as managers and grow within our company. Today Consolidated Electrical Contractors has three facilities with over 120 employees statewide. We look forward to our future and
opportunities in the State of Michigan and throughout the Midwest.
GRAND RAPIDS FACILITY
Established in 2001, Grand Rapids is the first true startup branch for our company. This branch was started with dedicated individuals commuting from both Traverse City & Lansing for over a year. With much hard work and a commitment to the market place, our Grand Rapids Branch is continually growing to over 25 field personnel along with a staff of local project managers, estimators, engineering and Cad designers all with the sole purpose of providing the construction team with the best possible support.
LANSING BRANCH
Formerly Lansing Electric Company
In 1924, Stanley J. Coven, founded Lansing Electric Company, after graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in electrical engineering. Early in Mr. Coven’s career, he became partners with Mr. Dempsey Alberts, and they made a lifetime commitment to reliability, innovation, tradition, and results. In the late 1960’s the two business partners passed the family business down to their sons’, Dave & James Coven and William Alberts. In January of 1996, the sons’ sold the business to Consolidated Electrical Contractors, and by continuing their philosophy; our Lansing Branch has become one of the largest non-union electrical contractors in the Lansing Area. TRAVERSE CITY BRANCH
Formerly Martin Electric Company
In 1978, Myron Martin, founded Martin Electric Company. Myron had a great work ethic and expected the same from his employees. In January of 2000, Myron sold the business to Consolidated Electrical Contractors, and by building on Myron’s success; our Traverse City Branch is continually growing into new markets, as well as in size. We look to become not only the largest non-union electrical contractor n the Northern Michigan area, but also certainly the best.
