Partners

With nearly 100 years of business in our rearview mirror, Consolidated Electrical Contractors understands we would not be where we are today without our communities supporting us. Because of this, we believe it is important to share in our success by giving back to the communities we call home. The following are just a few examples of the many ways in which we give back to our communities.

B.O.P. Program

In the United States today, there are over 500,000 individuals experiencing homelessness. More often than not, these individuals have experienced hardships and have lost opportunities that eventually culminates in housing instability.

In order to rectify this, Consolidated Electrical Contractors partnered with Homeless Angels and the Greater Michigan Construction Academy to found the Building Opportunities for People (B.O.P) Program to teach basic construction skills, familiarize individuals with the many professional trades, and to introduce those individuals to employers. Everyone needs a helping hand and a supportive community, and CEC is proud to provide that with the B.O.P. program.

Learn more about B.O.P. with Henry, an alumnus of the program and current Consolidated Electrical Contractors team member, in the video above!

VFW National Home for Children

Consolidated Electrical Contractors is proud to have many veterans as part of our team, so being able to lend a hand in establishing a new museum at the VFW National Home for Children in Eaton Rapids is an incredible honor.

Converting a former maintenance building into a museum exploring the storied history of the VFW National Home for Children, Consolidated Electrical Contractors donated over $25,000 in labor and materials to bring this project to life and to show our appreciation for this great organization that houses 130 people.

Mikey23 Foundation

The Mikey23 Foundation was started in memory of founder Michael McKissics’s son “Mikey” McKissic, seeking to teach and introduce young people to the construction industry through on-the-job experience, all the while restoring houses in the community.

Consolidated Electrical Contractors is proud to have worked with Mikey23 to restore and renovate this Lansing home nearly destroyed by fire.

“…the Consolidated crew was also always professional, hardworking, and helpful when I was on site. In my 20 years as a designer, I will say that I have not worked with this exceptional level of electricians too many times. Their hard work was noticed and appreciated.”Beth M. Bronson | Custer, Inc.

Greater Lansing Food Bank

Anyone committed to giving back knows that the benefits go both ways. With Consolidated Electrical Contractors, that means enjoying a friendly cooking competition while raising money for the Greater Lansing Food Bank.

We’ve held both lasagna and chili cook-offs, and can see a mac & cheese competition on the horizon. For each cook-off, competitors make their best version of the dish and voters give $5 to taste each entry.

All of the proceeds are donated to the Greater Lansing Food Bank, who in turn use the money to distribute meals to those in need across 7 counties. In 2018, the GLFB provided 6,949,851 meals.

Toys For Tots

Every year, HBA of Greater Lansing hosts a Toys for Tots donation drive that Consolidated Electrical Contractors is very proud to be a part of.

The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program collects new, unwrapped toys that it distributes to children for Christmas who may not otherwise receive any gifts.

With Consolidated Electrical Contractor’s help, HBA of Greater Lansing collected a grand total of 7,114 toys in 2018!

Design & Build Day

When CEC team members get the opportunity to share their passion and knowledge with children, they go all out! That’s why Design & Build Day at Impression 5 Science Center is such a wonderful opportunity.

Equipped with electrical safety coloring books, snap circuit kits, and keychain flashlights, CEC volunteers helped Lansing-area kids learn about the science of electricity and how to stay safe around it!

“Thank you Consolidated Electric. Your professionalism on not only this project but all projects in general make Consolidated Electric a true pleasure to work with.”Laux Construction
